Check out this interview with team leader Aaron Stein, ’19 about the upcoming National Hillel Basketball Tournament (March 25,26, and 27th) and Towson Hillel’s team.

What you guys been doing to prepare?

We’ve been going to the Park Heights JCC two or three times a week to practice and scrimmage against each other and scrimmage other guys at the gym to get ready for the games.Basketball Jewish

What are you most excited for?

To meet all the other teams and see who our competition is, because we have a lot of talent on that team. We all played in high school and we’re all really good, so we’re excited to go out there and meet everybody.

Why should we go to the basketball tournament?

We’re all really good. One of our guys alone, he can dunk, which is impressive. He’s going to be in the dunk contest for us. And then I’ll be in the 3-point contest that’s going on.

Wait…tell me more about these contests

So the 3 point contest you have a minute to make as many threes as you can from wherever around the three point line. A teammate will pass it to you and you just shoot it as fast as you can.

For the dunk contest they have judges rating your dunk on a scale from one to ten, and then whoever gets the most points in the final round wins.

So we’re going to participate in those and try to win.

When is this all happening?

The weekend event is March 25, 26, and 27 at University of Maryland. Games start March 25, and the championship game is the 27th at 6:30pm. For more information check out http://hilleltournament.com/
