Whether you’re accustomed to celebrating Shabbat every week, just on special occasions, or are new to the experience, Towson Hillel has a wide variety of options for you to explore. Learn more about Catered, OneCard, and Hosted Shabbat.
Each week, students have the option to host small Shabbat gatherings for their friends, with kosher catering from some of our local faves like Accents, Dougies, Pearlstone, and David Chu’s. We are happy students can continue to celebrate Shabbat safely, on their own terms in their own spaces!
Twice a month Towson Hillel sponsors a large catered Shabbat with home cooked sides. Services typically begin at 6:00pm and dinner is served at 7:00pm. Students are encouraged to invite friends and family members as we all gather together to celebrate the end of the week. Have a food allergy or dietary restriction? Contact us and let us know how we can accommodate you. Check out our calendar for dates and times.
Homing Shabbat Innovation gives students the opportunity to host their own Shabbat meals. Towson Hillel provides the stipend for students to grocery shop, prepare Shabbat dinner in the Hillel house, invite their friends and make Shabbat their own. Students create the menu and meaningful Shabbat guides, or use ours to facilitate a memorable Shabbat meal and experience. HSI occurs twice a month. Interested in hosting? Let us know!
Looking to experience Shabbat with a board member, faculty or staff? Towson Hillel is happy to connect students to community leaders that have expressed interest in hosting students, to get that true home experience. Contact us for a home Hosted Shabbat meal.
